Established in 1993 as PKA, the design studio is a well-established practice providing complete design solutions in interior-architecture. With corporate interiors as its core strength, the studio has slowly expanded its horizons to designing other spaces as well and has a wide spectrum of projects from corporate to residential including bungalows and villas.

The past two decades have seen the practice grow from a small design studio to becoming one of the preferred practices in the industry. Effective space planning, clutter-free designs and precision in time management are the prominent features of each project and have become the hallmark of the studio. With strict processes in place that are followed for each project, the studio has earned a formidable reputation that holds it in great stead.

Over the years, the principal architect Puran Kumar has attracted like-minded creative people to the firm and this has resulted in a design team that shares his design beliefs and has become an integral part of PKA. Integrity, honesty, commitment, dedication and sincerity are not just the foundation stones of the practice but also the scaffolding that enables the studio to maintain its work ethics and design standards.

The studio is based on strong beliefs that are not only woven into the design process but integral to everyone working with PKA. These beliefs have long since, become the foundation of everything that the studio stands for.

People Connect – Following the lead of Puran Kumar, in understanding the client before designing for him, the team works on developing an intuitive perception of what the client expects out of his space.

Honest Reflection – Each design created by the studio is a true reflection of a process that gives credence to the need of the client first and works within the timelines to create the most-suited solution.

Global Design – International trends, global appeal, cutting-edge design and state-of-the-art technology are woven with the warmth of the Indian sensibilities to create a space that is truly global in its appeal hence timeless.

Puran Kumar accredits the success of the studio to the single-minded determination of the team and its focused approach towards design and delivery. This has gained the studio the trust of almost all its clients who have since then continued their association with PKA and the team.

Puran KumarPrincipal

Puran Kumar established his design studio in Mumbai in 1993, after working for a few years on a diverse range of corporate projects. An advocate of uncomplicated design expressions, he supports and practices the use of natural building materials that lend an everlasting appeal to any design.

From large corporate offices – both domestic and multinational – to residential projects that range from apartments and bungalows to villas, Puran’s repertoire of architecture and interior projects is as wide as it is simple.

His hallmark space planning and clean-line designs are a natural extension of Puran’s sensibilities as a person and an architect. A believer of the fact that to build spaces for anyone, the designer needs to understand the occupant(s) first, Puran invests time and effort in observing and learning about his clients through constant interaction.
